There are numerous globemallows. Native to Texas is scarlet globemallow, (Sphaeralcea coccinea); spear globemallow (Sphaeralcea hastulata); gray globemallow (Sphaeralcea incana); caliche globemallow (Sphaeralcea laxa); scaley globemallow (Sphaeralcea leptophylla). The globemallow below was growing at the Fort Worth Botanical garden. I have not identified the specific species below. Many of the globemallows are native to the southwestern United States and Canada.
