Oenothera speciosa
family or willow-herb family.
Pink evening primrose, pinkladies This is the pink evening primrose (Oenothera speciosa), a flower that is June flowering and located natively in many southern states. The Oenothera can be seen with yellow, pink and white flowers depending on species.
Along the edge of my herb garden and pea rock path pink evening primrose (Oenothera speciosa) has found a place to propagate. I pull most of the new seedlings but leave a few to add some excitement in the spring. These grow at the base of several rotund fennel that over-winter, without damage, in a protected corner of the garden. I keep the fennel for swallowtail larva to feed on in the late spring.
